The UniverseThe weekly Tarotcast card is The Universe. Known in most traditional decks as The World, this is the last card of the Major Arcana. We’ll be experiencing strong feelings of success, completion, fulfillment and synthesis in key areas of our lives this week.
In our work environment, this can mean the completion of a long-term project and we’ll probably see the effects of world events on the companies we work for and in our business dealings. In our personal and romantic dealings, this card indicates expansion and positive changes to the status quo, especially if things have been somewhat dull or stagnant. At the same time, we’re reminded to attend to our duties and responsibilities that extend beyond the current situation. We will most probably gain insight into the workings of karma in our lives and our understanding of the elements of time – past, present and future - will grow and shift toward a more cosmic, universal consciousness.
On the kabalistic Tree of Life, this card travels Path 32, joining the 9th sephiroth or sphere of Yesod (the Foundation) to the 10th sephiroth or sphere of Malkuth (the Kingdom).
As the last card of the Major Arcana, the Universe represents the completion of the Great Work. The Fool’s journey begins as the zero moves from nothingness to manifestation. The Universe is that manifestation, its purpose accomplished, ready to return to the divine All Nothingness.
Astrologically, this card is the planetary trump of Saturn and the elemental trump of Earth. The cycles of both being and of time are contained in this card. Considering that the Spring equinox is coming up fast, this card’s energy couldn’t come at a better time, in my humble opinion. This is the momentary pause after much activity, the experience of rest after hard work (even knowing that there is more work to be done), and a feeling of wholeness and unity.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes superficiality, being deceived by appearances and focusing on them over substance, laziness and depression.
Let’s focus on positive solutions, the satisfaction of a job well-done, completion, wholeness and the sense of returning home to get the most benefits from this week’s energy.
A little home alchemy: Power colors this week include indigo, iridescent blue-black, navy blue for Saturn as well as the earthy colors of russet, olive, amber and golden-yellow.
This is a great week to listen to beautiful music – anything that uplifts you and makes you feel closer to God and universal consciousness, or connects you to your own spirituality.
Onyx, obsidian, jet, garnet, rock crystal, quartz, jasper and azurite worn as jewelry or carried as power stones will combine the best of Saturn responsibility and accountability with the grounded, practical and nurturing qualities of Earth – our mother planet.
Both iron and lead are this week’s metals – not great for wearing, but perfect symbols of strength and endurance.
Scent your home, bath and body with valerian, comfrey, musk, patchouli, cedar, honeysuckle and magnolia will keep you energized, centered and successful this week.
Foods prepared with thyme, sage, and any whole grains, nuts and seeds will provide the same beneficial effects.
